Tyson Prince joined the Seahawks coaching staff on February 22, 2024, following one season (2023) as Sacramento State's wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator.
Prince mentored a deep receiving corps in his first season at Sacramento State. Jared Gipson was named second-team All-Big Sky after catching 38 passes for 657 yards and four touchdowns. Carlos Hill also had a breakout year, leading the team with 51 receptions for 692 yards and five scores.
Prince served as an offensive quality control coach at the University of Washington during the 2022 season where he worked closely with the receivers. The Huskies finished the season with an 11-2 overall record and captured the Alamo Bowl title. During the year, the team averaged 515.8 yards of total offense per game, including 369.8 passing yards per game. The receiving corps was led by Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze who each produced 1,000-yard seasons.
He began his coaching career at Michigan State as a student assistant working with the wide receivers from 2016-18. He then served as a graduate assistant at Fresno State in 2019 where he worked under Jeff Tedford and current Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Prince moved to the NFL in 2020 where he was an offensive quality control coach with the Detroit Lions working with tight ends. He returned to the college ranks in 2021 as an offensive graduate assistant at Boise State.
Prince earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Michigan State in 2019. His father, Robert, is currently the wide receivers coach for the Dallas Cowboys and was the Seahawks wide receivers coach in 2009. He is married to Cassi.
