YouTuber and NFL Player

Although he is a full-time NFL player, he is also a part-time YouTuber who let's you in on his day-to-day life with cooking segments, vlogs and sit down interviews with other NFL players on his Big Time Hank YouTube channel.

His YouTube bio reads "I'm Johnathan Hankins, Defensive tackle #95 Join me on my journey through this season and my life. BTH "Born To Hustle" is my brand and my values. Follow me on my born-to-hustle story."

And very fitting for this five things to know, Hankins answered some questions about a year ago on his channel from his Instagram followers.

Self-Proclaimed Movie Critic

Outside of football, Hankins said that he enjoys watching movies.

"I think I'm a movie critic," he told the Indianapolis Colts in 2018. "I literally go the movies by myself most of the time, I like going to the movies and rating movies."

And if you're wondering what his favorite movie is, it's "Fast and Furious 7".

Reunited with AD

In signing Hankins, the Seahawks helped reunite Hankins with his former defensive line coach, and now Seahawks defensive coordinator, Aden Durde. During Hankins' two seasons in Dallas, Hankins played in 19 games, he was acquired in the middle of the 2022 season by the Cowboys. This past season Hankins started in all 14 games that he played in, recording 3.0 sacks, two passes defensed and 27 tackles.

Former RB

OK, the title may have been a stretch, but through his youth football years Hankins did play running back, along with tight end and wide receiver. But when he had his growth spurt, it was clear his size would be better suited for another position.

"We woke up and we saw this giant in the house," Louise Ward, Hankins' mom told Cleveland.com in 2012. "It was like he grew overnight."

Now, the six-foot-three, 325-pounder probably wouldn't be the one catching passes but it's not unheard of for someone his size to… (roll the George Fant highlights).

Hotel Owner

Just a week after getting married, in June 2023, Hankins broke ground for the start of a Wyndham Hotel in Blackfoot, Idaho.

"This has been an amazing experience," Hankins said on his YouTube channel. "Never thought one day I would own a hotel, but I do now. Right now, we're just trying to add more value to the community and create more opportunities for the small businesses in the area."

And of course, he vlogged his whole experience.

The Seahawks signed veteran defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins on March 19, 2024. Hankins has gone on to play for the Giants, Colts, Raiders and most recently, the Dallas Cowboys.
