SEATTLE -Typically, whenever Blitz goes out in public the team mascot draws a crowd, or at least turns heads from 12s expressing excitement over the sight of the Seahawk spreading his wings outside of CenturyLink Field. But on Friday afternoon at the Washington State Convention Center, Blitz was just another face in the crowd, blending in with countless cosplayers at Emerald City Comicon.
Donning a Jedi robe and wielding a Lightsaber, Blitz helped celebrate ECCC's 15th anniversary, strutting around the WSCC floor where more than 90,000 comic book and pop culture enthusiasts are expected to turnout through the weekend.
Obviously, the team mascot didn't go completely unnoticed, as plenty of cosplayers broke character to shout a 'Go Hawks!' his way. One ECCC attendee even offered, "Is that the real Blitz?" A fair question given the sheer number of individuals in guise, but also an inquiry Blitz -- yes, the real Blitz -- likely hasn't heard anywhere else.
At ECCC, Blitz paused for photos with Seahawks fans and found time to say hello to plenty of superheroes and supervillains, including Wonder Woman, Bane from the Batman series, Quailman -- for the Doug Funnie fans out there -- as well as a batch of characters from a galaxy far, far away.Â
