Chris Carson is again a nominee for Ground Player of the Week at NFL.com after rushing for a career-high 122 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' 27-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at CenturyLink Field.
Carson, who was up for Ground Player of the Week honors last week as well, topped 100-plus yards on the ground for the third consecutive game with his Week 17 performance. The second-year running back's effort against Arizona included a 7-yard score in the game's second quarter for his ninth touchdown of 2018, seven of which have come in the second half of the season. Carson's day also included a third-quarter run for a career-high 61 yards that helped set up a Mike Davis touchdown run, as well as an 11-yard run in the game's final minute to help set up a 33-yard game-winning field goal by Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski.
"There are going to be times like that where the run game is going to take a minute to get going but like you said, we were one big play away from having a big spark and that's what happened today," Carson said postgame after rushing for more than 100 yards for the sixth time this season. "The offensive line did a great job sticking with it and we came out with a victory."
For the weekly honor, Carson is up against fellow running backs C.J. Anderson of the Los Angeles Rams and Jordan Howard of the Chicago Bears. Fans can vote online at NFL.com through 12 p.m. PT on Wednesday, January 2, or through polls published on the NFL’s Twitter account.
