To continue impacting 50 different communities throughout the year and 2025 Seahawks season, the Seahawks made a trip to the eastern part of Washington.

During the trip, the Seahawks along with, safety Jerrick Reed II, Seahawks Legend Mack Strong, Blitz and Seahawks Dancers made a stop in Pullman, Wash. and their first stop included helping Washington State University restock pantry shelves in the Cougar Food Pantry. The event, in partnership with Safeway was meant to raise awareness and help combat food insecurity, even on a college campus.

Sara Osborne, public and government affairs director for Safeway said, "In those conversations [about food insecurity] you rarely hear about college hunger and it's so prevalent and it's so important… All of those students who are food insecure, only one-third of them access anything on campus for assistance. We need to help more universities, more colleges have programs like this. There is no college food bank like the Cougar Pantry."

The afternoon was spent filling the pantry shelves with canned goods, non-perishables, and fresh produce for the students.

After the pantry was restocked, the group stopped at a local Safeway for a food drive to encourage shoppers to donate to support the Feeding Cougs Well program, which helps stock the food pantry on campus.

"The Seahawks have always been great at giving back in the community, and I think their partnership with Safeway and Washington State University is unique," Strong said. "It's about the next generation. That's what it's always been about with the Seahawks, it's about the next generation and how can we impact and improve lives of the people around us and our community."

One of the easiest ways to help combat food insecurity is by donating at any Safeway location near you.

Strong said, "For those of you out there who want to know 'How can I help?'… What you can do is donate to your nearest Safeway and donate whatever goods are available there. You will have the opportunity to really impact this community."

The Seahawks partnered with Safeway and visited Washington State University on April 10, 2025 to help restock pantry shelves in the Cougar Food Pantry, and hand out healthy food samples as part of the Impacting 50 Communities initiative."
