Members of the U.S. Men's National Team paid a special visit to Seahawks headquarters on Tuesday, with the soccer club in Seattle for a Copa America quarterfinal match against Ecuador on Thursday night at CenturyLink Field. 

"It's awesome," Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said of the national team's presence. "They are having fun like little kids out here. They are wanting to play catch and throw the ball. You see our guys want to kick the soccer ball and they want to play catch with the football, so they're figuring it out."

Alejandro Bedoya, Steve Birnbaum, John Brooks, Ethan Horvath, Jermaine Jones, Perry Kitchen, Christian Pulisic, DeAndre Yedlin, and Graham Zusi took in the first day of Seattle's mandatory minicamp from the shores of Lake Washington, conversing, swapping jerseys, and even engaging in a few friendly competitions with Seahawks players after practice. 

"It's unbelievable," said Yedlin, the USMNT defender who calls Seattle home. "I know a couple of the guys, so it's cool to see them and cool to be able to see them practice, have all these other guys see what a great facility this is, and what a great city Seattle is."

Carroll, who said he is "looking forward" to attending this week's match, met with USMNT head coach Jürgen Klinsmann on Monday at Renton's Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

"I have followed coach Klinsmann for a long time and we've gotten together over the years, back when we were at SC, and it has been really fun for me to follow his coaching and his style and all of that," Carroll said. "It is going to be great. They are going against Ecuador to see if they can move on. I am fired up."

Carroll said there's plenty of value in meeting with the head coaches of teams in other sports.

"It is valuable to see just all perspectives and just take what you can out of the conversations," Carroll said. "I particularly like talking with guys, I like coaches wherever they come from. I always welcome them in and look forward to learning, not just telling them what we do, I want to know stuff. There is so much about players, handling situations and media issues and all the stuff that falls among really is the same and we are always looking to exchange it."
