Former Safety Kenny Easley will serve as Honorary Captain for Super Bowl XLIX Coin Toss

Seahawks safety and Ring of Honor member Kenny Easley will serve as the Seahawks honorary captain for the coin toss before Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, February 1.

Phoenix, Ariz. - The Seattle Seahawks today announced that former Seahawks safety and Ring of Honor member Kenny Easley will serve as the Seahawks honorary captain for the coin toss before Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, February 1.

Easley was the fourth-overall selection by Seattle in the 1981 NFL Draft. He was inducted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor on October 14, 2002 after a career of seven years played in Seattle from 1981-87. Voted by the *Associated Press *as the defensive Player of the Year in 1984, Easley had 32 interceptions in his career. He was named AFC Rookie of the Year in 1981 by the NFL Players' Association and was voted to the Pro Bowl five times (1982-85, 1987). He was named first-team All-NFL by the *Associated Press *in three consecutive years (1983-85). He finished his career with 498 tackles, seven sacks, 10 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and 32 interceptions.
