In the Seahawks Week 15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 4 receptions for 48 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
The rookie out of Ohio State has been coming into his own this season and has accounted for two game-winning touchdowns this season, the first one coming in Week 8 vs. the Cleveland Browns.
"I knew just by preparing all week that if it was man-to-man then I was the go-to on that play," Smith-Njigba said in his postgame press conference. "We ran it before and they did play man, but you know, stuff happens. The next play we were able to get it down, so I'm happy I got the same look."
Smith-Njigba is the only rookie since 1960 with two game-winning touchdown receptions in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
Sam LaPorta, Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions), Rashee Rice (Chiefs), Aidan O'Connell (Raiders), and Jordan Addison (Vikings) have also been nominated.
