Tight end Brady Russell signed his exclusive rights tender with the Seahawks on Wednesday, securing his return for the 2025 season.

The Seahawks tendered Russell as an exclusive rights free agent in March, all but assuring his return for a third season in Seattle, and this signing makes it official.

Russell, who went undrafted out of Colorado in 2023, initially signed with the Eagles and began his rookie season on their practice squad before the Seahawks signed him early that season. Over two seasons with the Seahawks, Russell has appeared in 26 games—he was limited to 11 last year due to a foot injury—and established himself as a core special teams player, recording a team-high 10 special teams tackles last season and seven in 2023.

"Another guy on the team that you just love his mentality, his work ethic," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said of Russell after a standout 2024 training camp. "You guys get bored of me talking about special teams, but I mean this guy carries the torch for us on special teams, especially for (special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh). Very pleased with where he's at. He can play all phases. He can play different spots, tight end, move him around, so he gives you flexibility there. I'm just more happy with his mentality and his toughness."

Russell has also played limited snaps at fullback, something that could prove valuable with new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak stating that he plans to have a fullback be a significant part of the offense.
