The Seahawks signed tight end Eric Saubert on Monday, adding to that position group an eight-year veteran who most recently played for the 49ers.

Saubert, a fifth-round pick out of Drake in 2017, began his career with the Falcons, then later spent time with Chicago, Jacksonville, Denver, Dallas, Houston and San Francisco.

Saubert appeared in all 17 games last season, starting three, while recording 11 receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown, and he also played 67 percent of his team's special teams snaps. For his career, Saubert has appeared in 101 games with 19 starts, recording 47 receptions for 389 yards and three touchdowns while also being a special teams mainstay in each of his NFL stops.

Saubert gives the Seahawks additional tight end depth after Pharaoh Brown left in free agency, signing with Miami. Saubert joins a position group that also includes Noah Fant, AJ Barner and Brady Russell.
