A look at a couple of memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on July 31:
2010
The Seahawks open their first training camp under Pete Carroll, who was hired as head coach in January. In his inaugural season, the team would win the NFC West title and upset the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in the first round of the playoffs.
2009
Training camp opens at Virginia Mason Athletic Center – the team's state-of-the-art facility in Renton – and for the first time in franchise history practices on the West side are open to the public. That tradition continues for the team's seventh training camp at VMAC this summer and all 14 open practices are sold out.
