Seahawks Announce Week One UnitedHealthcare High School Coaches Of The Week

Seahawks and UnitedHealthcare name Central Valley’s Ryan Butner and Mount Baker’s Ron Lepper as Week One NFL High School Coaches of the Week.

RENTON, Wash. – The Seahawks and UnitedHealthcare announced today that Central Valley's Ryan Butner and Mount Baker's Ron Lepper are the Week One NFL High School Football Coaches of the Week for the state of Washington.

Coach Butner led the Central Valley Bears 27-10 over Bellevue with a great showing on defense. Central Valley has been a consistent 4A contender under Coach Butner, with numerous playoff runs and consistent results in a competitive 4A league. The team is known for tremendous character and sportsmanship under Coach Butner's leadership.

Coach Lepper led Mount Baker 21-14 over perennial powerhouse Lynden at Lynden's home field. Coach Lepper is both the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Mount Baker High School, coordinating a class-act athletic program. The Mount Baker football team is known for playing with discipline, character and heart. Coach Lepper has been a longstanding member of the Washington State Football Coaches Association.

The Seattle Seahawks High School Coach of the Week Program, presented by UnitedHealthcare, promotes the importance of youth football. Each week during the high school football season, the Washington State Football Coaches Association selects two high school football coaches as the Coach of the Week winners. Each recipient receives a $500 grant from the NFL toward their football program. At the conclusion of the high school football season, one coach will be selected as the NFL High School Coach of the Year for the state of Washington, and will receive a $2,000 grant.
