The Seahawks made another change to their 53-man roster Monday, claiming linebacker Jermaine Grace off waivers from the Cleveland Browns. Running back J.D. McKissic was placed on injured reserve to make room on the roster.
Grace, 24, went undrafted out of the University of Miami in 2017, and spent his rookie season with the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts, appearing in a total of 11 games. The 6-foot, 223-pound Grace was claimed off waivers by Cleveland in May, and after spending training camp and the preseason with the Browns, he was waived on Sunday.
Because McKissic, who sustained a foot injury in practice last month, went on injured reserve Monday and was on Saturday's initial 53-man roster, he is eligible for a midseason return but would have to miss the first eight games. With McKissic on IR, the Seahawks now have four running backs on the roster, Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, C.J. Prosise and Mike Davis, as well as fullback Tre Madden.
