Seahawks Claim Safety Robert Smith Off Waivers From Colts

Seahawks release safety Ty Zimmerman.

Renton, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks have claimed safety Robert Smith off waivers (Indianapolis) and released safety Ty Zimmerman, the team announced this afternoon.

Smith originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 5. In his four-year career at Clemson, he recorded 182 tackles, one sack, four interceptions and seven passes defensed in 53 games played with 26 starts.

Zimmerman signed with Seattle on July 31.
