Seahawks defensive passing game coordinator Karl Scott and quarterbacks coach Charles London will take part in this year's Coach Accelerator program, the league announced Thursday.
The Coach Accelerator program, which began in 2022, serves as a platform for NFL executives and team owners to engage with qualified coaching candidates from diverse backgrounds, allowing coaches to build relationships with team owners and executives to further develop and hone leadership skills.
"Developing diverse coaching talent through the accelerator program is a key priority," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a press release. "In its fifth iteration, this program continues to be an effective avenue for club owners and executives to be exposed to the skillset and unique backgrounds of highly qualified coaching candidates, and for the program's participants to network with one another and engage in professional development sessions."
Scott is heading into his third season with the Seahawks, having previously spent one season with the Vikings in 2021, and three seasons at the University of Alabama. Scott was the only coach retained by Mike Macdonald from Pete Carroll's coaching staff. London joins the Seahawks after a long career in the NFL coaching quarterbacks and running backs. Most recently he was the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Titans, and before that he coached quarterbacks in Atlanta from 2021-2022.
Three members of Seattle's current staff participated in last spring's Coach Accelerator program, defensive coordinator Aden Durde, assistant head coach Leslie Frazier and receivers coach Frisman Jackson.
