Seahawks Next Gen Stat Of The Week: Geno Smith Was Cool Under Pressure In Week 18

Geno Smith thrived when pressured on Sunday, helping lead the Seahawks to a win over the Rams.

Next Gen Stats - 010625

Sunday was, by just about any measure, one of Geno Smith's best games this season, as he threw four touchdown passes to lead the Seahawks to a 30-25 win over the Rams.

Smith's four touchdowns were a career high, and his 137.8 passer rating was the fourth best of his career, and his second best since taking over the Seahawks starting job three years ago. Smith also led a fourth-quarter touchdown drive to give the Seahawks the lead, giving him four game-winning drives this season and 12 in his three seasons as Seattle's starter, the second most in the NFL over that span.

And as NFL Next Gen stats illustrates, Smith performance on Sunday also stood out because of how well he played when under pressure. Against the Rams, Smith had a season-best 46.2 percent drop back success rate when under pressure, and he had more passing yards under pressure (120) than without pressure (103).

Smith completed 7 of 11 pass attempts for 120 yards and two touchdowns while pressured on Sunday, and was 13 for 16 for 103 yards and two touchdowns when kept clean.

The Seahawks closed out the 2024 season with a 30-25 victory over the division rival L.A. Rams at SoFi Stadium in Week 18. Check out some of the best moments from the postgame celebration.
