With their 2022 season now over, the Seahawks signed 10 members of their practice squad to reserve/future contracts.
Signing a contract for 2023 were offensive lineman Greg Eiland, linebacker Chris Garrett, defensive tackle Jarrod Hewitt, center Joey Hunt, receiver Cade Johnson, tackle Jalen McKenzie, cornerback Chris Steele, running back Darwin Thompson, receiver Connor Wedington and receiver Easop Winston Jr.
Of that group, Johnson played the biggest role in 2022, appearing in three regular-season games as well as last weekend's Wild Card playoff game as a practice squad elevation. Johnson, who signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State in 2021, saw significant playing time on offense over the past three weeks, playing 36 percent of the offensive snaps against the Jets in Week 17, 41 percent against the Rams in Week 18, and 65 percent against the 49ers last weekend. Johnson caught two passes for 21 yards, his first two NFL receptions, in Week 18, then added three catches for 39 yards against the 49ers.
