Seahawks Sign LB Khairi Fortt, Waive/Injured LB Christian French

The Seahawks made a roster move Monday, signing linebacker Khairi Fortt. Rookie linebacker Christian French was waived/injured.

The Seahawks signed linebacker Khairi Fortt Monday and waived/injured rookie linebacker Christian French.

Fortt, a fourth-round pick out of the University of California in 2014, has spent time with New Orleans, Cincinnati and Jacksonville, appearing in three games with the Jaguars as a rookie. In one season at Cal after transferring from Penn State, Fortt tallied 64 tackles in nine games, and added 3.5 tackles for loss. French was signed as an undrafted free agent earlier this month and participated in Seattle's rookie minicamp.

If French goes unclaimed off of waivers, he would revert to Seattle's injured/reserve list and not count towards the 90-man roster, as was the case with cornerback Mohammed Seisay and receiver Jeff Fuller after they were waived/injured last week.
