The Seahawks signed second-round picks Boye Mafe and Kenneth Walker III, and fourth-round pick Coby Bryant, meaning their entire nine-player draft class is now under contract.
Mafe, an outside linebacker who is expected to bolster Seattle's pass rush, has already drawn comparisons from Pete Carroll to Seahawks Legend Cliff Avril. Walker was one of college football's top running backs in 2021, and should be a big factor in Seattle's offense, particularly with Chris Carson being released Tuesday due to a failed physical. Bryant, who won the Jim Thorpe award as college football's top defensive back, will join the competition for starting jobs at cornerback.
The Seahawks already signed six other draft picks, tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas, cornerback Tariq Woolen, outside linebacker Tyreke Smith and receivers Bo Melton and Dereke Young. With those nine picks under contract heading into camp, the Seahawks are expecting big things from a rookie class Carroll is “really jacked” about based on what he saw in offseason workouts.
Without further ado, your 2022 Seahawks Draft class: OT Charles Cross, LB Boye Mafe, RB Kenneth Walker III, OT Abraham Lucas, CB Coby Bryant, CB Tariq Woolen, LB Tyreke Smith, WR Bo Melton, and WR Dareke Young.
