The Seahawks (9-7) will wrap up their season in Los Angeles with a Week 18 game against the Rams (10-6), who last weekend clinched the NFC West title. To help you get ready for this week's game, we reached out to therams.com senior writer Stu Jackson with five questions about this week's opponent.

From 1-4 going into their bye week to NFC West champions now, it's been a big turnaround for the Rams this season. What has been the biggest difference/change for the Rams to allow them to get to where they are now?

Jackson: Getting healthy, especially on offense. They played stretches without both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, as well as different offensive line starters, early in the season, and having both of those receivers back and the offensive line stabilized has helped this offense play to its potential.

This game had the potential to have a ton on the line, but unfortunately for the Seahawks, things didn't go their way in Week 17 and the Rams clinched the division. With that in mind, what kind of approach are Rams players, Sean McVay, etc., taking into a game that only has significance from a seeding standpoint?

Jackson: So far, we know that Jimmy Garoppolo will start at quarterback and Matthew Stafford will rest. McVay also said starting right tackle Rob Havenstein (shoulder) won't play. Beyond that, McVay said they're still working through who rests and who plays. For players like Garoppolo and others who may get an extended look, it still represents a meaningful game.

The Rams have won their last three games 12-6, 19-9 and 13-9, are they coming out of those games more encouraged about the defense or more concerned about the offense?

Jackson: Whether it's been turnovers created or timely stops in general, they've been encouraged by the defense during that stretch. It's the first time since 1975 that a Rams defense has held three-straight opponents to under 10 points.

While the slow starts offensively have been challenging, McVay has been pleased with the way that unit has been able to finish games.

Other than the obvious big names, what player/players could you see being an X-factor in this game?

Jackson: Jordan Whittington. He's become an impact player as a returner on kickoffs and on the punt coverage unit, so there are a couple different ways I could see him having an effect on this game.

What matchup or matchups are you most looking forward to seeing play out on Sunday?

Jackson: Garoppolo against the Seattle defense. It's going to be his first live game action in the regular season since Week 8 of the 2023 season when he was with the Raiders, so I'm interested to see how he performs.

The Seahawks and Rams face off for the last game of the regular season on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2024. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PT. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the Rams.
