Thursday Practice Report: Defensive End Michael Bennett And Strong Safety Kam Chancellor Return For Seattle Seahawks

Two of Seattle's defensive starters returned to practice in limited fashion on Thursday ahead of the team's regular-season finale against the Arizona Cardinals.

Two of Seattle's defensive starters returned to practice in limited fashion on New Year's Eve.

Michael Bennett (toe) and Kam Chancellor (pelvis) each saw the field on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said Bennett underwent a non-surgical procedure this week on the toe that has been bothering him for most of the season, so the defensive end's return to practice is an encouraging sign. Chancellor, meanwhile, received his first work since hurting his pelvis in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens, an injury that forced him to miss the past two weeks.

Left tackle Russell Okung (calf), who missed this past Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, did not participate in Thursday's practice after working in limited fashion on Wednesday. Fellow offensive lineman J.R. Sweezy (concussion) and tight end Luke Willson (concussion) were both sidelined for a second day in a row. Defensive tackle Jordan Hill (toe), who hasn't played since Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, was a limited participant for a second straight day. Defensive end Cliff Avril (back) was a full participant on Thursday after going in limited fashion on Wednesday, and Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) remains ruled out as he continues to recover from surgery, but Carroll hopes the running back will be back in time for the playoffs.
