Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today — Thursday, April 12 — about your Seattle Seahawks:
Avril Begins Trip To Haiti
Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril began his annual trip to the country of Haiti on Thursday. Avril, whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from Haiti, is traveling for the third year in a row to continue his charitable efforts.
Part of those efforts include Avril building a school alongside other NFL players. The school is located in La Chanm, which is apart of Haiti's Central Plateau region, and will be completed this year. He will also spend time visiting family.
"It has been great to be able to do something like this, to be able to go back to a country that I love so much as I've gotten to learn the history of the country and the people there, understanding who these people are and what they're unfortunately going through," Avril said. "To be in a situation to be able to give back is the biggest thing for me. I have cousins who still live there, and I could easily be one of those kids. For me to be able to go back and see them and be able to give back, it's an honor and a blessing. I'm just grateful to be able to have the platform to do so."
Here are some clips via social media of Avril's trip thus far:
