Few players take advantage of the NFL's brief offseason like quarterback Russell Wilson.
Since the Seahawks wrapped up their voluntary workout program in mid-June, the Seattle signal caller has delivered surprise Father’s Day gifts to dads at a local hospital, put on a celebrity golf tournament benefitting Strong Against Cancer, embarked on his annual Passing Academy tour, walked the red carpet and presented at the ESPY Awards, and served as host of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports for the third straight summer.
Now, Wilson finds himself in Shanghai, China, where he's teamed up with Nike to lead a "Make Em Miss" — the tagline for Wilson's recently-released Nike cleats — football camp for kids.
"I have a cool opportunity. I get to come over to China — Shanghai, Beijing — with Nike and Alibaba," Wilson said in a Facebook video posted last month. "It'll be a special, special time. I get to see all the kids, I get to see your culture, you guys get to see mine. We're super excited to see you guys soon."
Wilson has shared a few behind-the-scenes highlights from his time in China on TraceMe.com, which he'll use to showcase the rest of his overseas journey that is expected to take him to Beijing for another event with Alibaba Group.
