2015 Season Preview
After the club fell just short of capturing its second consecutive Super Bowl title, the Seahawks sit atop ESPN.com's power rankings previewing the 2015 NFL season.
ESPN.com writers Mike Sando, Brady Henderson, and Sheil Kapadia have tag-teamed a 2015 season preview for Seattle, sharing reasons why the club will make the playoffs, why it might miss the postseason, what's changed for the team since a year ago, what the team is saying now, and predicting where the team will stand come next February.
Kapadia provides game-by-game picks and analysis for the regular season that have the Seahawks finishing 12-4, with the four losses coming in Week 2 on the road against the Green Bay Packers, in Week 8 on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, in Week 12 at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and in Week 14 on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.
Kapadia writes: With the AFC North and NFC North on the schedule this season, the Seattle Seahawks will do plenty of traveling, and they don't play at home until Week 3. In their quest to win the division for the fourth straight year, they'll have nine games against teams that made the playoffs last season and will face three quarterbacks (Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco) who have Super Bowl rings.
Henderson thinks the Seahawks have what it takes to challenge for a third straight Super Bowl berth, answering the statement 'What the team will be saying in February' with: That it's followed a similar path back to its third straight Super Bowl. This season won't be easy for Seattle. Then again, it wasn't in 2013 or 2014, either. The Seahawks reached the Super Bowl in both seasons despite challenges that would have derailed lesser teams including injuries and suspensions, locker room turmoil, brutally tough stretches in their schedule and an offense that briefly lost its way. This Seattle team is every bit as talented as the two that preceded it, which is why, even with issues on the offensive line and in the secondary, there's no reason to believe that the Seahawks can't make it back to another Super Bowl.
