Tuesday Round-Up: Michael Bennett Joins 710 ESPN; Seahawks, CenturyLink Extend Stadium Naming Rights

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett joined John Clayton and Gee Scott on 710 ESPN Seattle Tuesday morning.

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today — Tuesday, May 16— about your Seattle Seahawks:

Michael Bennett Joins 710 ESPN Seattle

Seahawks veteran defensive end Michael Bennett joined John Clayton and Gee Scott on 710 ESPN Seattle this morning and discussed what he described as one of the best offseasons of his career, his foundation's upcoming dinner and auction this Saturday in Bellevue and his recent trip to Haiti with teammate Cliff Avril.

"Cliff did something that was one of the most genuine, humanitarian things a person could do," Bennett said about the April trip he took alongside Avril and other NFL players. "He brought education to a group of people that aren't able to have it.

"It was great to be able to give them an opportunity to be creators and give them an opportunity to have a future."

While in Haiti, Avril and his foundation, The Cliff Avril Family Foundation, began the groundbreaking of a new school building, life-changing homes to withstand natural disasters and hosted a youth football camp.

Seahawks Announce CenturyLink Field Naming Rights Extension

On Monday, the Seahawks made an exciting announcement, extending their naming rights agreement with CenturyLink, Inc. starting in 2019 running through the 2033 NFL season.

"We're really glad CenturyLink is stepping up and staying with us," Seahawks President Peter McLoughlin said. "They're great partners, they're a great company to work with, they've been wonderful in support of the team and the facility. This is a great partnership that we're going to continue for many years.

"It's important to have a consistent name to your stadium. I think CenturyLink has shown they've got marketing programs that integrate our players with their programs, and it gives us financial stability, too, for the long term. It's hard to get a naming rights partner, it's a big deal, it's a long term deal, and to be able to accomplish it is a positive thing for the Seahawks and it's positive for the 12s because of the consistency."

CenturyLink will continue to be the communications sponsor of CenturyLink Field and the Seahawks under the new agreement.
