Good afternoon, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today — Tuesday, September 5 — about your Seattle Seahawks:
Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin Joins 'The Rich Eisen Show'
Seahawks Pro Bowl wide receiver Doug Baldwin was a guest on Rich Eisen's radio show, The Rich Eisen Show, this morning. In the video embedded above, Baldwin reflected on a few things on-air, here are some quick highlights:
What is Seattle's mindset entering the opener against Green Bay:
"This entire offseason we kind of just wanted to get back to the basics of who we are as the Seattle Seahawks and basically that just comes down to having fun," Baldwin said. "If we have fun, then we know we're going to execute at a high level, we're going to play with passion and tenacity and aggressiveness. But it comes down to us having fun and that's really what we're trying to do. We just want to have fun with our teammates out there playing the sport that we love."
On his close friend Jermaine Kearse being traded to the New York Jets:
"Losing one of my best friends on the team, who I've grown with the past six years, it was tough," Baldwin said. "It was definitely an emotional hit and surprise, but I'm an optimistic person, and I look at his opportunity over there with the Jets to showcase his talents with a pretty good quarterback on a team that's trying to figure it out. We did get a great teammate in return, I've already seen the type of person he is and the type of player he is going to be for our defense. I do believe it's a win-win for both sides even though it is sad to see my best friend go."
Tweet Of The Day (Year?)
Today's "Tweet of the Day" comes from Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett. Yesterday Bennett tweeted a photoshopped picture of VIBE magazine's iconic Death Row Records cover that originally featured Suge Knight, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, but with himself, Cliff Avril, Sheldon Richardson and Frank Clark on it instead:
