INDIANAPOLIS—Aside from having a few players on injured reserve, the Seahawks heading into their 2021 season-opener healthy, which means the inactive list contains players who are healthy scratches for Sunday's game against the opener.
For the most part the inactive list is made up of players who are relatively new to the teams—quarterback Jake Luton, cornerback Bless Austin, and center Dakoda Shepley, as well as rookie tackle Stone Forsythe, but there are two experienced veterans on the list, defensive end L.J. Collier, who was a starter at defensive end last season, and running back Alex Collins.
Collins was one of Seattle's most productive players in the preseason, but the Seahawks have five running backs and others like DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer are more involved in special teams.
The Colts, meanwhile, will be without starting cornerback Xavier Rhodes due to injury, as well as tackle Eric Fisher. All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson, who was listed as questionable, is active. Also playing, as expected, is quarterback Carson Wentz, who missed much of camp and the preseason with a foot injury, but who was able to practice fully this week.
