2019 Week 4: Seahawks Injury Updates From Pete Carroll Ahead Of Sunday's Game at Arizona

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll provided updates on his team’s injury situation ahead of Sunday’s game in Arizona.

The final injury report of the week provided mostly positive news for the Seahawks as they get ready to head to Arizona for a Week 4 showdown against the Cardinals.

Four players are listed as questionable for Sunday's game, but three of them—defensive end Ziggy Ansah (back), running back Rashaad Penny (hamstring) and defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson (hip)—all practiced fully on Friday, a good sign for their chances to play. Cornerback Neiko Thorpe, meanwhile, is also listed as questionable and was a limited participant in practice. Thorpe has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury.

"All those guys that are questionable have a really good chance to play," Carroll said.

On Penny, who missed last week's game with a hamstring injury, Carroll said, "He worked through practice today, so he's going in questionable. We've got to get to game time to see what happens. He had a good week in preparation for it. He didn't get to work every day this week, but he did finish out the week going, so that was a good sign. He feels pretty good. He's dying to play."

Ansah, who made his Seahawks debut last week, was limited Wednesday and was held out of Thursday's practice with a sore back before returning to action Friday.

"He needed a couple days," Carroll said. "He had just a sore back from some stuff that cleared up today. He was fine today… He has a really good chance to play."

On Jefferson, Carroll said, "He bounced back today also. We gave him a couple days and then he came out today and looked good again."

The Seahawks have no players ruled out due to injury, and only guard/center Ethan Pocic is doubtful due to a mid back injury.

While not injury related, Carroll said that rookie defensive end L.J. Collier should play this week after being inactive against the Saints in Week 3. Carroll also said Luke Willson jumped in and showed he is ready to play after signing with Seattle on Wednesday.

"He had a great week," Carroll said. "I don't know how he did it, he looked like he'd been here the whole time. Everything that he retained, and then the new stuff that he had to learn. Him and (tight ends coach) Pat McPherson worked it out and he had a very good week, he'll be part of the plan."
