• Named to the NFC Pro Bowl in 2023 and ranked fifth in the NFL with 16 passes defensed. Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week 4 and NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for October.
• Since sacks became an official statistic in 1982, became the 27th player with 2.0-plus sacks and a pick-six in a regular or postseason game at the N.Y. Giants (10/2/23), and just the third rookie to accomplish that feat. His 97-yard touchdown return off Daniel Jones was the second-longest interception return in franchise history. Also part of a defensive unit that set the franchise record with 11.0 sacks at the Giants.

Started 12 games during senior season in 2022, named first-team AP All-American, Big Ten Conference Defensive Back of the Year, first-team All-Big Ten Conference and was a Jim Thorpe Award finalist. Tied for eighth in the FBS with 17 passes defensed, helping Illini lead the FBS in scoring defense (12.8 ppg allowed). Committed to Illinois four days before camp in 2019.
PERSONAL: Pensacola Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after posting seven interceptions. Recorded four interceptions as a junior, which was his first year playing football. Lettered in basketball and track. Class 3A runner-up in the 4x100 relay. Originally committed to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. Nickname is "Spoon." Did not play football until his junior year of high school because he was focused on basketball, and his dream was to play in the NBA. Only tried out for football because his mother wanted him to. One of his favorite football players growing up was 2023 Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis. Majored in communications.
