COLLEGE: Spent the 2022-23 seasons at Miami (Ohio) after beginning his college career at Michigan State (2019-21). Played in 58 career games (32 at Michigan State, 26 at Miami), and totaled 240 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 18 passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
PERSONAL: Attended St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Earned all-state honors as a senior in 2017, when he recorded 61 tackles, two sacks, 13 passes defensed, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Also lettered in basketball and track & field. Has two older brothers, Andrew and David Dowell, who both played football at Michigan State. Andrew went on to play linebacker for the New Orleans Saints from 2020-22.
