COLLEGE: Attended the University of Tulsa and totaled 114 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 13.0 sacks, and eight forced fumbles during his career. Played in all 12 games with 11 starts during his senior season, earning first-team all-conference honors. Started in all 12 games as a junior (2018) and ranked second in the nation with five forced fumbles.
PERSONAL: Attended Cedar Hill High as a senior after spending his sophomore and junior years at Richardson Berkner High School. He is the son of Thomas and Cassundra Gipson; his mother ran track at North Texas and his father played basketball at Texas. His brother, Thomas, plays professional basketball in Finland. His grandfather, Tom Gipson, was a defensive tackle who played four games with the Raiders in 1971 after being chosen in the 14th round of the NFL Draft.
