Impacting Seattle | Impacting 50 Communities Ep.1

In celebration of the Seahawks' 50th Season, the Seahawks created Impacting 50 Communities, a purpose-driven initiative rooted in their six core pillars, designed to create meaningful impact across the region and beyond. Beginning in the Seattle area, the program focuses on giving back to local communities, developing the next generation of athletes, and expanding access to youth sports with a strong commitment to growing opportunities in Girls Flag Football.

This episode follows the Seahawks supporting communities across the PNW, from Pullman, Washington to Anchorage, Alaska, by funding meal programs that help children thrive on and off the field. Expanding access to reliable nutrition helps build the stability and opportunity youth need to learn, grow, and participate in sports.

The Seahawks expanded Impacting 50 Communities around the world, traveling to places from Sydney, Australia to Oahu, Hawaii, and bringing communities together through sport. By sharing the game of football, supporting local programs, donating resources, and helping rebuild communities, the Seahawks have positively impacted more than 52,970 individuals, continuing their commitment to creating meaningful change wherever they go.

The Seahawks and Safeway teamed up to support organizations on the frontline of feeding families across Washington State. Jaxon Smith-Njigba hosted a food drive to support Feeding Feasible Feasts and their food pantries throughout King and Pierce Counties. And Jalen Milroe and Devon Witherspoon prepared more than 600 grocery bags at the Asian Counseling and Referral Service Food Bank.

In partnership with Safeway, the Seahawks spent the week addressing food insecurity across Alaska. From assembling meals with Kids Kupboard to raising $12,000 for the Food Bank of Alaska, every effort made a difference. The impact continued with a $100,000 Nourishing Champions Grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska—and over 500 pairs of shoes distributed by Blitz through Kicks4Kids. Together, we made a lasting mark across the region.

The Seahawks returned to Tumble Creek Golf Course at Suncadia on June 23, 2025, for the 2nd Annual Seahawks Classic. This premier charity golf event brought together Seahawks Legends, current players, and community partners for a day of fun, competition, and giving back. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.

Throughout the 2025 season, the Seahawks will impact 50 communities and they hosted their first event at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in partnership with Safeway and Special Olympics Washington. The organizations came together to build snack boxes for the Special Olympics' upcoming spring season.
