Happy Blue Friday, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today, December 10, about your Seattle Seahawks.

Maurice Jones-Drew Expects Russell Wilson To Shine In Week 14

After rough outings in his first two starts following his return to the field after finger surgery, Russell Wilson has looked more and more like himself over the past two games against the Washington Football Team and San Francisco 49ers. In those games, Wilson completed 73.5% of his passes for 478 yards with four touchdowns, and one interception. The Seahawks came up just short in their comeback effort against Washington, but Wilson and the offense made great strides against the 49ers, scoring their most points since Week 2 versus the Tennessee Titans (30) and snapping a three-game losing streak.

And with the Seahawks traveling this week to take on a 2-10 Houston Texans team that surrenders 26.3 points per game — second most in the league, ahead of the Jets at 30.4 — it seems within reason that Wilson and the Seahawks offense may be able to keep up the momentum they've got going.

On Friday's episode of NFL Network's Good Morning Football, three-time All-Pro running back Maurice Jones-Drew chose Wilson as the player he most expects to shine in Week 14. "I'm going to go with Russell Wilson, I think it's time," Jones-Drew said. "I thought last week he started kind of getting back on track after that finger issue. It takes you a couple weeks. But he made some big-time throws, he was dealing in the pocket.

"You have the Houston Texans — this may be your get-right game. Go out there and light it up."

The Texans go into Sunday's game the losers of two straight games and 10 of their last 11, including a 31-0 shutout at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday.

Next Gen Stats: Tyler Lockett Could Be Big-Play Weapon Against Texans

It only makes sense that as Russell Wilson and the Seahawks' offense starts to improve, Tyler Lockett's productivity would do the same. That's been the case recently — according to NFL's Next Gen Stats, Lockett ranks in the top 5 in receiving yards (279), passer rating when targeted (137.3), yards per reception (19.9), and catch rate over expectation (+19.9) over the Seahawks' last three games.

The video shows why Lockett's effectiveness as a deep receiver could be a recipe for success against a Texans defense that struggles to defend deep passes. Houston ranks last in the NFL in completion percentage allowed on deep passes, 29th in target separation, and 25th in open percentage. The Wilson-to-Lockett connection figures to have continued success this week as the Seahawks look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
