The Seahawks finished Sunday game without quarterback Geno Smith, who injured his knee in the third quarter of their loss to the Packers, but fortunately for Seattle, Smith avoided serious injury.
Smith was scheduled to practice Wednesday, a positive sign for his chances of playing in Sunday's game vs. the Vikings.
"Geno feels good," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "He did walkthrough today. We've got a plan for practice, we'll see how it kind of alters his practice as it clears, but he'll be out there for a significant capacity today. We'll see how many reps he takes."
Running back Kenneth Walker III, who missed the previous two games with a calf injury, took part in Wednesday's walkthrough and will be ramping up his workload on Thursday.
"We're optimistic," Macdonald said. "We'll see about how many reps today, but he did walkthrough. We'll probably ramp it up a little bit more tomorrow."
In addition to losing Smith, the Seahawks also finished Sunday's game without starting center Olu Oluwatimi, who exited with what Macdonald called a knee and quadriceps injury. He too appears to have escaped serious injury.
"Olu, might not see him today in full capacity, but should be out there tomorrow rocking and rolling," Macdonald said.
The Seahawks will play at Lumen Field against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Check out action photos of their matchups throughout the years.
