In his return from an oblique injury that he suffered in Week 1, Kenneth Walker III led the team with three touchdowns in the Seahawks 42-29 loss to the Lions.
"I feel good," Walker said after the game "Nobody really likes injuries. So, it felt good to be back out there and be healthy and just be able to go out there and ball with my boys."
During Monday's game, Walker didn't look like he'd missed any time at all with injury, rushing for 80 yards on 12 attempts, and four receptions for 36 yards. He made every play count, finding holes in the defense, and breaking tackles -- like on a short pass from Geno Smith in the second quarter, where at first look, it appeared he was down, but he broke the tackle by performing what looked like a WWE wrestling move for a few extra yards.
"I've never seen a play like that ever in my life," safety Rayshawn Jenkins said. "So hats off to Kenneth. He continues to fight when he's out there. He's not going down easy. And I thought the offense played great tonight."
Head coach Mike Macdonald added, "I mean talk about one of the guys that's going to fight to the bitter end. This guy is tough as nails. I mean the plays not over. I mean it's just like he can, plays are designed to go in certain gaps and with him it just could go anywhere. And he runs extremely hard, plays hard, he cares. We're going to be leaning on him moving forward. So it's good to have him back."
Although he's a playmaker on his own, Walker said the offensive line is what allowed his to make the plays he did on Monday night.
"First, I'll give credit to the O-line," Walker said. "They executed well and they're assignments. They made my job a lot easier, to make those plays. So I give a lot of credit, or all the credit to the O-line."
Macdonald adding, "Yeah, I felt the O-line played well, I thought they played well, and their run game didn't really come alive until the second half, but it felt good. It felt better than it's been. So, excited to watch the tape and see where we improved."
"He's special man," Smith said about Walker. "You see the plays that he's making. I don't think any other running back could do some of the stuff that he's doing. I mean, I'm surprised every time he makes one of those just crazy plays. And to have him and Zach back there to have that one two punch and to be able to utilize both of those guys within our offense, it just makes us that much better. And so just having Ken back, man, it is great. I just enjoy having him on our team."
Charbonnet finished the game with 15 rushing yards and 39 yards receiving.
