It's that time of the year again for EA Sports' Madden rating reveal, which always causes chaos amongst players and fans. Here are a couple of the top Seahawks rankings revealed for the opening day release of Madden NFL 23.
Speed Kills
The Seattle Seahawks roster has gotten younger and faster this offseason with several acquisitions in free agency and the NFL Draft in April. Seahawks rookie cornerback Tariq Woolen comes in at No.8 on the overall speed list, with a 97 rating out of 99.
Coming in at No.10 overall with a 96 rating is Seahawks wideout Marquise Goodwin, who they acquired in May via free agency. The 2015 Pan American Games silver medalist has represented the U.S. on the track in various events since the 2008 IAAF World junior championships.
Ahead of the Class
Seahawks rookie running back Kenneth Walker III may not have been the first to come off the board, but he is the highest-rated rookie ball carrier in Madden 23. Walker's 77 overall is the highest among all rookie backs, and a point higher than New York Jets rookie Breece Hall - who was selected four picks ahead.
In addition, Walker III is tied with Minnesota Vikings back Ty Chandler for highest rookie speed rating at 93. At the NFL Combine, Walker III showed out, running a 4.38 40 time.
NFL insider Dov Kleiman with the top rookie speed ratings for Madden 23, with Walker III tied for first with a 93.
Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf comes in at No. 9 overall for wideouts in the speed category with a 95 rating.
Hands Team
Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett comes in at No.9 for Madden 23's catch rating with a 95. Lockett notched his third-consecutive season with over 100 receptions in 2021, and was named one of the NFL's best at difficult catches by NFL Network.
Seahawks tight end Noah Fant cracked the Madden 23 tight ends list for hands, coming in at No.6 with a 94 catch rating. In 2021, Fant caught 68 passes for 670 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks acquired Fant from Denver via trade this summer, along with his friend and quarterback Drew Lock.
Wrap It Up
Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks cracks the Madden 23 Top-10 for tackle rating with a 95, coming in at No.4 overall. Brooks started all 17 games for the Seahawks in 2021, recording 184 combined tackles, with 10 tackles for loss. Brooks' performance in 2021 earned him the No.16 spot on Pro Football Focus' NFL linebacker ratings for 2022.
Safety First
Seahawks safety Jamal Adams joins wideout Tyler Lockett as the only Seattle players to earn a 90 overall. Last week, Adams was ranked by NFL execs and his peers as a Top-10 NFL safety. The hard-hitting safety recorded 88 tackles and 4 tackles for loss in 2021.
