The Seahawks brought back an important piece of their offensive line depth on Friday, re-signing guard Jordan Simmons.

Simmons, 26, saw the most significant playing time of his career in 2020, appearing in 14 games and starting six at left guard in place of an injured Mike Iupati. It was a strong bounce-back season for Simmons after he missed all of the 2019 season on injured reserve.

Simmons first joined the Seahawks as a waiver claim in 2018 and showed promise in three starts filling in for an injured D.J. Fluker, but his season was cut short by a knee injury. Simmons first came into the league as an undrafted free agent out of USC, spending the 2017 season on Oakland's practice squad.
