The Seahawks signed defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, adding a veteran presence to their defensive line.
Hankins, 31, spent last season and part of the 2022 season with the Cowboys working with current Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde, who spent the past three seasons as Dallas' defensive line coach. Last year, Hankins started 14 games, recording 3.0 sacks, 27 tackles and two passes defensed.
A 2013 second-round pick out of Ohio State, Hankins became a starter in his second season with the Giants, and over an 11-year career with the Giants, Colts, Raiders and Cowboys, he has started 134 of 152 games played, recording 403 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 39 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Hankins will give the Seahawks size—he is listed at 6-foot-2, 320 pounds—and experience to add to a defensive line rotation that is returning three of its top players from last season in Leonard Williams, Dre'Mont Jones and Jarran Reed
The Seahawks signed veteran defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins on March 19, 2024. Hankins has gone on to play for the Giants, Colts, Raiders and most recently, the Dallas Cowboys.
