This year the Seahawks will sponsor the Washington State High School State Championships at Husky Stadium on December 1st and 2nd.
When high school football players in Washington take the field at Husky Stadium it will be the first year the championship will be played on the university's campus.
This will also be the first year that the Seahawks will be the sponsor for the state championship.
The Seahawks community team has six pillars of focus, community response, youth empowerment, military community, future of football, social justice and players and legends.
Being the sponsor of this year's football championship is meaningful for the Seahawks and aligns directly with the Seahawks' community areas of focus.
Paul Johns, director of youth and high school football at the Seahawks said that it was meaningful for the Seahawks to partner with the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, or WIAA on the games.
"I think it's important for the Seattle Seahawks to support the state of Washington's football programs whether it's youth, flag, girls flag and boys tackle, it's important that we support the efforts of our state association," Johns said.
During the games on December 1st and 2nd, Seahawks Dancers, Blue Thunder, Blitz and Seahawks Legends and players will be in attendance throughout the day.
