All it took was one punt to prove the preseason wasn't a fluke for wide receiver/return specialist Tyler Lockett.
The rookie out of Kansas State, who returned a punt and kickoff for scores in exhibition play last month, took his first regular-season punt return back 57 yards to paydirt, giving the Seahawks a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Lockett becomes the first rookie to return a punt for a touchdown on a player's first-career punt return since Bryan McCann did it for the Dallas Cowboys in 2010.
The score, the Seahawks' first-ever punt return for a touchdown on kickoff weekend, marked Seattle's first punt return for a touchdown since 2007, when Nate Burleson ran one back 94 yards against the Cleveland Browns.
