COLLEGE: Jones started 37-of-39 games for Ohio State. Selected first-team All-Big Ten Conference after breaking out with a 8.5 sacks (61 yds.) in addition to posting 43 tackles (26 solo). Became the first defensive lineman in OSU history to score two defensive touchdowns in a single season in 2018, returning an interception 28 yards (vs. TCU, 9/15) and recovering a fumble in the end zone (vs. MSU, 11/10). Selected third-team All-Big Ten. Helped the Buckeyes win the Big Ten Conference Championship and the Cotton Bowl his redshirt sophomore season. Was one of just three defensive linemen in school history (Dan Wilkinson - 1992, Luke Fickell - 1993) to start at least 10 games as a freshman. Earned Freshman All-America honors from the Football Writers Association of America. Totaled eight tackles at Wis. (10/15) and seven tackles vs. Mich. PERSONAL: Jones was named first-team Division-I All-Ohio and U.S. Army All-American as a senior at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland. Recorded 47 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, four sacks and four forced fumbles as a senior. Began playing football as a high school junior. Played basketball and was ranked as a consensus four-star prospect. Dre'Mont Jones was born on Jan. 5, 1997, in Cleveland, Ohio.
