The Seahawks wrapped up a 10-7 season earlier this month, and encouraging first season under head coach Mike Macdonald, but one that also ultimately fell short of his and the team's goals.

"Well, I wanted to win the Super Bowl," Macdonald said last week in his end-of-season press conference. "In order to do that, you've got to win games, you've got to make the dance, you want to win your division, you've got to win your conference, then you want to win the Super Bowl. We did a lot of the first goal, we won 10 of our games; we didn't achieve any of the other goals, so ultimately, we fell short. But there are other things that we felt like we did well where we're building in a position to go attack this thing moving forward.

"We're just really optimistic, fired up for what's ahead of us with the direction our team is going. Obviously, we wanted to be fighting it out in the playoffs, and we felt like we had a good enough team to do some damage, but we didn't earn the right to do that. So we're moving on, but man, we're excited about what's to come… It's an exciting time, I'm excited about the foundation that we've been able to lay, and ready to get back to work."

With the 2024 season behind us, here are 12 numbers of note that help tell the story of the Seahawks' first season under Macdonald.

10

Wins, making Macdonald the winningest first-year coach in franchise history, topping Chuck Knox and Mike Holmgren, who both went 9-7 in their first seasons in Seattle.

9-1

The Seahawks' record in 2024 when even or positive in turnover differential. On the other hand, the Seahawks, who were minus-six for the season in turnover differential, went just 1-6 when losing the turnover battle.

7

Road wins for the Seahawks, tying a franchise record for most road victories in a season. The Seahawks also tied a franchise record by winning six in a row away from home. The other side of that, of course, was Seattle's 3-6 home record, their worst since going 2-6 at home in 2008. As Macdonald put it, "We've got to play better at home. It's great to be 7-1 on the road, but we've got to make this place a nightmare for teams to come in and play us, and utilize our fans and the crowd and the 12s. The whole 12 as one mantra, we've really got to make that come to life when we're at Lumen, so that's going to be a major focus for us this offseason."

6

Wins over the final eight games of the season coming out of the bye, an impressive response after losing five of six prior to a Week 10 bye.

4, 5, 5

The Seahawks' rankings in yards allowed (304.8), points allowed (18.4) and first downs allowed (18.4) over the final eight games of the season following their Week 10 bye.

And over their final eight games, the Seahawks ranked fourth in the league in yards allowed (304.8), fifth in points allowed (18.4), fifth in first downs allowed (18.1) and sixth in pass defense (205.0).

407, 578, 4,320

Geno Smith's numbers for completions, attempts and passing yards, breaking the single-season franchise record in all three marks. Smith also set a Seahawks record with a 70.4 completion percentage, and he led four more game winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime, giving him 12 over his three seasons as Seattle's starter, the second most in the NFL over that span.

66, 992, 5

Receptions, yards and touchdowns for DK Metcalf, making him the second player in NFL history, along with Randy Moss, to have at least 50 catches, 900 yards and five receiving touchdowns in each of his first six seasons.

100

Receptions for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, tying Tyler Lockett's single-season franchise record. Smith-Njigba also had a team-leading 1,130 receiving yards and six touchdown catches.

11, 16, 28

Sacks, tackles for loss and quarterback hits for Leonard Williams, all three of which were the most in the NFL among interior linemen.

4

Touchdowns scored by the Seahawks defense, interception return touchdowns by Williams and Coby Bryant, and fumble return touchdowns by Rayshawn Jenkins and Derick Hall.

2

Pro Bowl selections in as many seasons for Devon Witherspoon, making him the fifth player in franchise history to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons along with Fredd Young, Rufus Porter, Lofa Tatupu and Russell Wilson.

9

Field goals made by Jason Myers from 50-plus yards on 12 attempts. That is a career-high and a Seahawks single-season best for field goals made from 50-plus yards.
