Cornerback Tre Brown, who spent the first four weeks of the season on injured reserve with a knee injury, has been designated to return to practice this week as the Seahawks prepare for a Thursday night game against the Rams.
A fourth-round pick out of Oklahoma, Brown made a strong impression in training camp, and was getting some first-team reps prior to his injury. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has said on multiple occasions that when he's back, Brown will join the ongoing competition at cornerback, which this past week saw Sidney Jones IV take over a starting role at left cornerback, with D.J. Reed moving to the right side.
A standout special teams player in college, Brown also figures to be a factor in that phase of the game. As of now Brown does not count towards the 53-man roster, but before he can play in a game a move will have to be made to add him to the roster.
