The Seahawks beat the Bears 6-3 behind a dominant performance from their defense, and a big part of Seattle's success was a pass rush that made life miserable for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
The Seahawks sacked Williams seven times, with six different players recording a sack, and they recorded 10 quarterback hits.
And while the Seahawks were able to generate quite a bit of pressure with a four-man rush, they really were able to do some damage when blitzing Williams.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats, the Seahawks generated pressure on nine of 13 blitzes, and they recorded more sacks (four), than they allowed completions (three) when blitzing, and they also got the game-clinching interception on a blitz.
Next Gen Stats credited 12 different Seahawks players with at least one pressure generated, including eight players with multiple pressures.
The Seahawks had several individual standouts in the game, with Leonard Williams leading the way with 2.0 sacks, three tackles for loss and four quarterback hits. And according to Next Gen Stats, Williams generated six pressures, including five pressures and a sack while facing double teams, tied for the most pressures against double teams this season. Williams also generated a pressure against all five of Chicago's offensive linemen.
