Safety Rayshawn Jenkins has been designated to return to practice after missing the past four games on injured reserve with a hand injury.
The Seahawks also made some changes to their practice squad, signing tight end Tyler Mabry, who was waived on Monday, and quarterback John Rhys Plumlee. Additionally, outside linebacker Jamie Sheriff was placed on practice squad injured reserve.
Jenkins, who started the first six games of the season, had surgery on his hand after Seattle's Week 6 loss to the 49ers, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. With Jenkins out, Coby Bryant has started the past four games, earning praise from coaches while totaling 36 tackles, three passes defensed one tackle for loss and an interception over that four-game span.
Plumlee, an undrafted rookie out of UCF, signed with the Steelers following the draft, then was waived prior to the start of the season. He then signed to Jacksonville's practice squad, but was released last week. Plumlee, who played baseball as well as football at UCF and Mississippi, started 23 games in his two seasons for the Knights, throwing for 4,857 yards, 29 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while completing 63.0 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 1,367 yards and 16 touchdowns in his two seasons at UCF.
