The Seahawks activated Tre Flowers from injured reserve Saturday, an expected move for the cornerback, who returned to practice in Week 16.

"He's ready to go," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said of Flowers, who was placed on injured reserve earlier this month with a hamstring injury. "He had a great week of practice and he's ready to play."

The Seahawks had an open spot on the 53-man roster having released defensive tackle Damon Harrison earlier in the week.

The Seahawks also placed two players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, tackle Brandon Shell and safety Damarious Randall.

The Seahawks are elevating three players from the practice squad, running back Alex Collins and receiver Penny Hart as COVID-19 replacements, and guard Alex Boone as a standard practice squad elevation.

Shell and Randall are the first players on Seattle's 53-man roster to go on the COVID-19 list this season, though Carroll said Friday that Shell had not tested positive. No update was given on Randall. Previously, receiver John Ursua briefly was on the list in training camp, though that proved to be a false positive, while defensive tackle Bryan Mone was on the COVID-19 list for a close-contact situation while he was on injured reserve.

Carroll said Friday that Shell had not tested positive for COVID-19, but had “a close-contact situation. He's tested negative and all of that, but we're just monitoring it to make sure he's OK, so he wasn't out today, we didn't have him on the field today. It's a developing situation we've got to figure out. He's tested clear, but somebody that he's worked with hasn't, outside of the program, so we just got to make sure he's OK. We don't know, I don't know what to tell you about that other than that."

With Shell out, Cedric Ogbuehi will again get the start at right tackle. Ogbuehi has started three games in place of Shell while Shell was dealing with an ankle injury, including the past two games.

Collins, a fifth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2016, returned to Seattle this year as a member of the practice squad, and has been elevated for two games with one start, rushing for 48 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. He'll provide depth at running back with Carlos Hyde unavailable due to a non-COVID-19 illness. Hyde was initially listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, but was downgraded to out on Saturday.

Hart, who spent most of the season on the 53-man roster before being waived and then re-signed to the practice squad, has appeared in 12 games, playing primarily on special teams. Boone, who joined Seattle's practice squad earlier this month, is returning to football after two years out of the league to face his former team. Boone has started 86 career games at left and right guard, spending six seasons with the 49ers and one year each in Minnesota and Arizona.

The year 2020 was challenging in so many ways, but it still provided some incredible moments and memories that will stick with us forever. Take a look back at some of our favorite photos from the past year.
