Seahawks Elevate CB Gavin Heslop From Practice Squad

The Seahawks added secondary depth ahead of Sunday’s game, elevating Gavin Heslop from the practice squad.

HESLOP, GAVIN-2

With two starting defensive backs listed as questionable heading into Sunday's game against the Cardinals, the Seahawks elevated cornerback Gavin Heslop from the practice squad to add depth to the secondary.

Safety Jamal Adams and right cornerback D.J. Reed are both listed as questionable and did not practice on Friday, and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said both will be game-day decisions.

Heslop initially signed with the Seahawks in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of Stony Brook and spent last season on the practice squad. He was elevated for one game and was active, but did not play. If Heslop does get on the field Sunday it would mark his NFL regular-season debut.

Gray was nominated by the Seahawks for the 2021 Salute To Service Award, recognizing an individual who displays exceptional efforts in honoring and supporting U.S. service members, veterans and their families.
