The Seahawks running game broke out in a big way on Sunday, with Seattle rushing for a season-high 176 yards in a 30-18 win over the Cardinals.
And the Seahawks were able to have a huge game on the ground even with starting running back Kenneth Walker III sidelined by injury because, as he has shown when given a chance, Zach Charbonnet is a starting-caliber back as well.
Charbonnet, a second-round pick in last year's draft, had the best game of his career, rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, while also adding 59 receiving yards on seven catches.
The offensive line, which played its best game of the year, deserves a lot of credit for Charbonnet's big game, as he was quick to point out, but Charbonnet himself did plenty to make even more of his opportunities.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Charbonnet generated 41 rushing yards over expected, the most by a Seahawks running back over the past two seasons. Charbonnet also forced a career-high nine missed tackles, gaining 137 yards after contact, the third most of any player this season.
"Zach did a great job, we gave him a game ball," head coach Mike Macdonald said after the game. "(We) gave the offensive line a game ball. Just ran really physical and it's tough to tackle that guy in the open field. He's got speed and power, so (I'm) excited for him."
The Seahawks pulled off another road victory to extend their win streak to four games after beating the Arizona Cardinals for the second time this season. Check out some of the best scenes from the team's postgame celebration.
