The Seahawks placed starting safety Rayshawn Jenkins on injured reserve Wednesday, meaning he will miss at least four games.
Safety Ty Okada was signed off the practice squad to fill the open roster spot and add depth at safety. Additionally, the Seahawks signed cornerback Eric Garror to the practice squad.
Jenkins, who signed with the Seahawks as a free agent, ranks third on the team in tackles with 38, and has played every snap on defense this season. He was on the injury report last week with a hand injury but played the entire game.
With Jenkins sidelined, the Seahawks' options at safety alongside Julian Love include K'Von Wallace, who already has a significant role in three-safety packages, Coby Bryant and Okada.
Garror, who went undrafted out of Louisiana-Lafayette last year, signed with Tennessee as an undrafted free agent and appeared in 12 games for the Titans, starting four, recording 22 tackles, one tackle for loss and two passes defensed. He also returned punts, gaining 159 yards on 21 returns.
Okada, who signed with Seattle as an undrafted rookie out of Montana State last year, was elevated from the practice squad last week, seeing playing time on special teams. Last year he appeared in five games while spending most of the season on the practice squad.
