With NFL teams having to trim rosters to 85 players this week, the Seahawks waived six players on Monday while adding defensive end Alex Tchangam.
Waived were linebacker Nate Evans, tackle Lukayus McNeil, cornerback Jordan Miller, defensive tackle Walter Palmore, receiver Anthony Ratliff-Williams and running back Cameron Scarlett.
Tchangam, who is 6-foot-2, 244 pounds, went undrafted out of Colorado in 2020. Born in Cameroon, Tchangam moved to Georgia when he was in middle school, and did not play high school football. Tchangam's first year of organized football came at the junior college level at De Anza College, where he had 16.0 sacks in 15 games with the Dons, including 12.5 sacks as a sophomore.
At Colorado, Tchangam appeared in 20 games over two seasons, starting four during a senior season that saw him record 30 tackles, 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
Miller joined Seattle as a member of the practice squad late last season, then signed a futures contract after the season, Evans was claimed off waivers in May, while McNeil, Palmore, Scarlett and Ratliff-Williams all signed with Seattle this year.
